About Justin Fowler

With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure.  The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses.  In Vallejo, volunteers are raising funds for COTA in honor of transplant patients like local teen, Justin Fowler.

Justin is the son of Robert and Tina Fowler.  Born on February 11, 1996, Justin was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.  The doctors at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, California, performed a life-saving double lung transplant February 16, 2013, 5 days after his 17th birthday!  An estimated $65,000 is being raised by local  volunteers to help offset the expenses associated with his transplant.
